These dehydrated orange slices are one of my favorite ways to make my home decor style lean a little more old-fashioned and natural. Sure, it’s pretty common to see them pop up at Christmas time, but there’s no reason to put them away with the tree. These are the perfect little touch, year-round!

Are dehydrated orange slices hard to make?
Not at all! These dehydrated orange slices are so easy to make. Simply slice, pat dry, and dehydrate. They will last for years if dehydrated properly. Perfect for garlands, flower arrangements, ornaments, simmer pots, and so much more!
Can I dehydrate oranges without a dehydrator?
Believe it or not, yes! Follow the steps below, but instead of placing them in a dehydrator, place the orange slices on a parchment lined cookie sheet and flip every couple hours. Make sure your oven is set to the lowest temperature.
*Note: Most ovens do not go below 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to the higher temperature, you will have to keep an eye on the oranges to be sure that they do not burn/dehydrate too quickly.

Will dehydrating orange slices make them smell different than a normal orange?
If you love the scent of a fresh sliced orange, you will love these dehydrated orange slices. The scent is magnified, and you can fill your house with it through a simmer pot or potpourri mix.
This is another reason why it is so important to keep an eye on your orange slices as they are dehydrating. If they burn, that fresh citrusy scent will be replace with a dull, burnt smell. Avoid that by keeping a close watch on your orange slices, especially if you are dehydrating in the oven!

How can I use these dehydrated orange slices in my home?
I LOVE a dehydrated citrus garland. It is delightfully festive at Christmas, but also bright and fresh in the summer!
