This cinnamon apple bread is the perfect treat for a crisp fall day or cozy winter morning.

What is cinnamon apple bread?

Cinnamon apple bread is a sweet bread made with sugar, eggs, milk, oil, flour, baking powder, salt, apples, and cinnamon sugar.  Yep, no yeast!  This bread is perfect for breakfast or desert.

How long does cinnamon apple bread last?

Never long in my house!  In all seriousness, this bread will dry out if left on the counter for more than a few days.  However, if stored in the refrigerator, cinnamon apple bread will last for up to a week.

Can I freeze cinnamon apple bread?

You absolutely can!  Just don’t forget to wrap in plastic wrap or place in an airtight container to avoid freezer burn.  This bread will last in the freezer for up to three months.

What kind of apples should I use for this bread?

I love a tart granny smith apple in a sweet bread like this.  If those aren’t available (or you just downright don’t like them!), Honeycrisp or fuji will add an extra sweet touch to your recipe.  My all time favorite apple though, is the pink lady.  Pink ladies (not to be confused with Grease) are tart, juicy, and fabulous raw or in baked goods.  If you can find them, or grow them, they will take your bread to the next level!

Does this bread have a topping?

This bread has a simple cinnamon sugar topping.  While everyone loves a streusel topping, this bread is so good alone, that a streusel overpowers it.  Simply stir together 1/2 cup of white sugar with 1 Tablespoon cinnamon and sprinkle on top of your loaves before baking.  It adds the slightest sweet crunch, without overpower this amazing bread.

What kind of loaf pan should I use for a quick bread?

glass loaf pans and a spatula on a yellow checked towelI LOVE these Anchor-Hocking brand glass loaf pans.  The bread pops out easily, they are easy to clean, and most importantly, I love being able to see what I am baking.  Glass pans make it so easy to keep an eye on your bread to make sure it reaches the perfect golden brown.

Why do the apples in this recipe need to be unpeeled?

If you’ve ever cooked apples before, you know that they QUICKLY lose their shape and turn to mush.  Typically tart apples do hold their shape a little better, but to give your bread the best texture and flavor, leave your apples unpeeled.  They will hold their shape, and fill each bite with a little explosion of that yummy apple-ness that we are all craving!
