A good café miel is my go-to coffee. Not every coffee shop has it, but you can make it to easily at home with only a few ingredients!

What Is A Café Miel?

This coffee drink originated in Spain. Sweetened with honey, it also contains cinnamon and steamed milk. It can be made with espresso or brewed coffee. Serve it cold or hot (I prefer hot).

Ingredients For A Café Miel

This is a super simple coffee, that tastes so good! You only need a few simple ingredients.

Brewed Coffee or Espresso – This is the base for your drink.

Milk – Whole milk is best. The amount will depend on if you use brewed coffee or espresso.

Honey – This will bring the sweetness. I love local honey!

Cinnamon – The perfect spice for this drink.

Vanilla Extract– This is optional, but a fun touch.

How To Make A Café Miel

In only a few easy steps, you can have a hot (or iced) café miel in your hands!

Brewed Coffee

Fill your mug 2/3 of the way with hot brewed coffee.

Stir in honey and cinnamon.

Top off with steamed or frothed milk.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy. To make iced, pour over ice.

Espresso

Pull two shots of espresso (or use pod of choice if using a Nespresso).

Stir in honey and cinnamon.

Top off with steamed or frothed milk.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy. To make iced, pour over ice.

How To Make Frothed Milk Without A Milk Frother

Pour 1/2 cup of WHOLE milk into a quart mason jar. You can use a smaller jar for less milk or a larger for more.

Put the lid on and shake for one minute.

Remove lid and microwave for one minute to stabilize the foam.

NOTE: Keep an eye on the milk when microwaving to make sure the foam doesn’t overflow.

How To Order A Café Miel If It Isn’t On The Menu

My go to order for a café miel is simple a latte with honey and cinnamon. If you prefer brewed coffee to espresso, you could also order a drip coffee with whole milk, honey, and cinnamon. PRO TIP: Make sure you tell the barista you want a lot of honey. It is not nearly as good with just a quick squeeze.
