Pizza crust is one of those things that people are so scared to make. I’ll let you in on a secret though. It is SO easy. All you need is a few simple ingredients to make the most amazing homemade pizza crust recipe.

Ingredients For This Easy Homemade Pizza Crust Recipe.

You might not believe just how few ingredients this homemade pizza curst recipe takes!

Active Dry Yeast – I recommend using these packets, especially if you are a beginner with yeast.

Sugar – This is going to be the food for your yeast. Regular white sugar is all you need.

Water – You will need to warm this water to activate (wake up) the yeast.

Flour – I have been getting into milling my own flour, but all-purpose from the store will work just fine!

Salt – Any salt works. Redmond Real Salt in my favorite.

Olive Oil – A mild olive oil will not affect the taste of your crust at all.

Garlic Powder – Some people might think that this is optional, but I don’t think it is.

How To Make This Homemade Pizza Crust Recipe

My mom used to make this pizza crust every Friday night, so it tastes like so many memories to me. If she had time to make it while wrangling kids, working, and keeping her house, I think you can too!

Begin by mixing the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a medium sized bowl. Cover with a towel and let proof for 5-7 minutes. You will know it is ready when the yeast floating on top becomes a thick foamy layer. If that does not happen your water may be too hot or cold and you will need to start over.

If your yeast still looks like this after 5-7 minutes, start over! It did not proof.

Combine the flour, garlic powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.

With an electric mixer on low speed drizzle the olive oil into the yeast mixture until well combined.

Combine the yeast and flour mixtures on low with the dough hook attachment until the dough forms a ball.

This is what the dough ball should look like before you place it in the oily bowl.

Oil a glass bowl and place the dough inside. Cover with plastic wrap and leave in a warm place to rise for 2-3 hours.

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and place parchment on two pizza pans. Split the dough in half and spread out to desired size and thickness. Cover with toppings of choice and bake for 8-10 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
