These ranch roasted crispy potatoes are a fun take on a family classic. They are a delicious and easy side dish that are sure to be a hit in any household! They pair perfectly with a steak or burger especially, but we eat them with everything!

What are roasted ranch potatoes?

Roasted ranch potatoes are your typical roasted, crispy potato. The only difference is that we season them with ranch seasoning! Yep that’s right, if you aren’t from the Midwest, you may be shocked to learn that ranch dressing is available in a powdered seasoning blend. They are the perfect side dish for so many meals. This recipe is absolutely one that you will want to add to your recipe box.

What do I need to make roasted ranch potatoes?

This recipe is seriously so easy. I use Yukon Gold potatoes, but you can use whatever you prefer. I have used red potatoes before, and they are delicious. Personally, russet potatoes are not my favorite for this recipe, but it’s up to you! An oil to toss the potatoes in is key to the crispiness of these roasted ranch potatoes. Olive oil or avocado oil are my preferred ingredients, but use what you would like! Finally, these wouldn’t be roasted RANCH potatoes without.. ranch seasoning of course! Often with seasoning blends less is more, but let yourself go crazy with this one. You will want to season when you toss the potatoes with oil, and then again once you spread them out on a baking sheet.

Where can I buy ranch seasoning?

Of course the elite ranch seasoning is the Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning. I buy mine in a shaker at Walmart or Meijer because we use it OFTEN. However, you can also find it in individual packets. When you are shopping, be sure to look for the original ranch seasoning. There have been many new variations in recent years, but the original is still the best.

Can I make this recipe ahead of time?

You know I love a good make ahead recipe, but this is one that I wouldn’t necessarily make ahead. Potatoes are not quite as good reheated as they are the first time. One way to make this a little easier when it’s time to cook would be to prep this recipe ahead of time. Cut and toss and season your potatoes, and then throw them in a pan and pop them in the fridge until it’s time to cook. If you have to make them ahead of time (or have leftovers) here are some reheating tips.

  • Reheat in the air fryer – I’ll be honest, I own an air fryer.. but I’m still a little skeptical of the obsession. I mean, aren’t they just a mini convection oven? All that aside, I will admit that reheating any crispy potato does take it straight back to it’s original glory.
  • Fried Potatoes – Maybe not the best for you, but everything in moderation, right? Throw some butter in a skillet, and fry those potatoes up. The breakfast of your country dreams.
